Even as Singapore enters into Phase 2 under its phased reopening, nothing has changed in the digital landscape. Employees will continue to work from home as long as they are able to telecommute (Tan, 2020). While primary and secondary students head back to their schools from 29 June 2020 onwards for face-to-face lessons, students in the higher education will continue to have home-based learning (Ministry of Education, 2020). In fact, polytechnic students are conducting their co-curriculum activities (CCAs) online! (Singapore Polytechnic, 2020).
COVID-19 has certainly accelerated the digitalisation of many countries in the world, especially Singapore. There is no going back. A digital future lies ahead for Singapore as Singapore continues its tracks in digitalising the nation. Today, more Food and Beverage (F&B) places are now familiar with digital payment, more companies are now able to utilise various technologies to enable them to work from home more effectively, and eLearning has become the ‘modern face’ of learning for the students and learners.
Every change requires the people to be open-minded and be highly adaptable. Every change requires the people to upgrade their skill-sets to ensure they continue to stay relevant in an ever-changing environment. Training has been the way and will continue to be in equipping the people with the necessary skills they need. Today, training is conducted online – eLearning is the norm.
Yet, virtual training is not just about conducting face-to-face trainings online. It is also about having a Learning Management System (LMS) that brings trainers and training providers together with the learners, from the start of the learners’ learning journey to the end.
In conducting virtual training, firstly, trainers and learners need to be able to see each other as though they are in a classroom. Secondly, trainers and learners need to be able to access course materials with ease. Thirdly, trainers and learners need to be able to track learners’ progress in the training. After all, every learning objective in every training is about ensuring that the learners have better understanding, better mastery of what they are learning. Fourthly, trainers also need to be able to award learners with the certificate easily. Lastly, trainers, learners, and training providers need to have a secure platform; from protecting personal details, to restricted access to course materials, etc.
LOOP is the solution to meet your needs. Firstly, many trainers and learners have utilised one of the popular teleconferencing applications in the market – Zoom to conduct the trainings, and LOOP has integrated the access to Zoom within the LMS, making the LOOP LMS a one-stop platform for trainers and learners to access the training. Secondly, with LOOP, trainers can upload all course materials into the LMS and make it accessible for both current and future learners at a few clicks of the mouse; they no longer need to send out course materials manually via email or through other means of communication for each batch of learners. Thirdly, trainers can track every learner’s progress in the course through LOOP, which would also help trainers and training providers to improve the course for future batches of learners. Fourthly, trainers can automatically award certificates from multiple courses through LOOP; they no longer need to enter each learner’s details into the certificate and send out manually via email or other means of communication. Lastly, LOOP is able to protect your digital information with its many built-in security features that only grants authorised user access to the information they require.
Additionally, LOOP also has a temperature recording and tracking feature, enabling trainers to take care of learners’ well-being in the virtual training environment.
